Timeouts
- Players in handicapped divisions are allowed one 2-minute timeout per game.
- Timeouts can only be called by the player; however, any teammate may ask if a player wants one.
- A timeout is not necessary when asking for a rule interpretation.
- Timeouts will be considered over if the coach leaves the immediate vicinity of the table.
Coaching
- The designated coach must be listed on the current team roster
- Players are not allowed to coach if they are if they are participating in another game at the time.
- Players may only talk to their designated coach during a timeout
- Coaches may not confer with other team members during a timeout
- Incoming players conversing with others after their inning has begun will be considered to be receiving unauthorized coaching
- The coach is not allowed to touch any ball. If the coach touches only the cue ball, in a ball-in-hand situation; the shooter will remove the cue ball from the table and replace it himself. All other situations will be governed by the replacement regulations of the appropriate national sanctioning organization.
- Fouls can only be called by a participating player. Fouls called by another team member will be considered unauthorized coaching.
- Encouragement such as saying “good shot” is not considered coaching
